At 5:45AM this morning, Jennifer awoke with some slight discomfort that we both attributed to either false labor or just normal pregnancy pains. Adam went to work for 8:00AM and got a call at 9:00AM telling him to come back home because Jen was either really in labor or this false labor diagnosis was correct but didn't feel right. Needless to say, Adam ran late, got home at 10:00AM, got Jen to the hospital at 10:30AM and at 11:02AM, out popped our new baby boy.
Mason Sanford Egdall is 6 Pounds 3 Ounces and 20 Inches long. Both he and Mom are doing fine. We'll all be staying at the Hospital until Wednesday morning. Feel free to call us in the Maternity Ward, Room 1415, Main Number 508-363-5000, Toll Free 877-633-2368 or send us an email if you'd like. I hope to have pictures of Mason up soon but if you can't wait to give him your well wishes, you can email him at mason@tcs3.com
Both Jen and I, and I'm sure Mason if he could express it to us, thank
you all for your kind wishes leading up to this day and look forward to
having everyone meet our new family.

This concludes our actually Emergency Baby System activation. For all of those who have already sent the wonderful warm wishes, thank you. And to those begging for pictures, I have included 2 so as not to bore you. Although the nurses in the nursery nearly cast me out when I said, "All babies look alike" I kinda feel that they do all wrapped up and all. Of course Mason is the cutest one ever but I don't expect but one person out there to agree, and it BETTER NOT BE YOU MOM!!!
Thanks again everyone and we'll keep you posted with more news as it comes. As for Dad, I'm headed back to the hospital as the cats at home have now smelled Mason's receiving blanket, turned their heads in disgust and immediately showed me what they thought of the new addition.
To all, a marvelous evening as I know that about now, it's starting
to sink in and I am definitely savouring the moment.

This is like your very first email, I hope it doesn’t get buried
too deep in your Inbox. By the time you actually read this, the concept
of email will likely be replaced by something like t-mail (thought mail)
and the archaic means by which to find this message would be like your
dad listening one of his fathers 8-track tapes. But for now, you can reply
in one of the best ways babies have to communicate d-mail (doodiemail,
aka diaper mail.) The translation for this protocol has not yet been perfected,
but the adults in your life will rejoice in deciphering the color, consistency,
content, quantity, quality and odor of your messages for the next two or
three years… one if they are lucky…. Aside from dmail, I am sure you will
be RSVPee’ing an awful lot in the years to come…. One thing to remember….
When that cool breeze of the open diaper hits the wet soggy parts and stimulates
the urge to Reply…. Aim away from yourself little dude… and laugh your
little head off – because as your life unfolds it’s not likely something
you will be able to do again and get away withJ

Congratulations. You made out like a champ. Good job, I am impressed that you were able to limit Jenn's labor to about 2 hours (technically just over 5 hours if you discount the inexperienced diagnosis) :)
We will unlikely be able to come out to the hospital as this week has already worked itself into being a week from hell, but we will do our best to come see the "family" just as soon as we can. Good luck and best wishes (for a good nights sleep)

I most likely lost the Emerg. broadcast, but I do have to tag along with everybody else out there in congratulate both of you guys(sorry the three of you!!!) for not only going through this with the most interest and scientific 'touch' I've ever seen, but for also being so weird as to drag baby smells home for the cats to smell before Mason ever got a chance to really PRODUCE his own stuff!!!!
Of course I am somewhat partial in congratulating Rosemarie with a successful sighting of a scrotum a few month ago, quickly moving the ultrasound probe away from the 'subject'.
We're all very much looking forward to being introdused to the 'ex-fetus'. (maybe a nickname like Fe(s)tus. Let us just get over all this ear-plugging, nose-stuffing, bugger-blowing cold that has stuck with us for a couple of weeks. The last thing I want is to be the first to introduce Eivind's sleep depriving, 'post nasal dripping', sympathy inducing red nose syndrome to the most innocent thing there ever was.

Mason's World - Great Pictures! I've just spent the last 20 minutes

OK Mason - this is the deal, at this point in your life you can not get in trouble, you are just to cute and adorable. So now is the time to take advantage of it. There is no time like the present to get the things you want, people just can't refuse a new born. The problem is that the older you get the more you have to work for the good stuff, so get what you can now. Remember - it's your parents nature to spoil you, and if you can't get it form them ask your Grandparents - they are a sure bet.
